I have joined Wealthy Affiliate University (WA) in October 2007 and in 2012 I am still a member. I have decided to review WA and expose its pros and cons to help you decide if WA is worth it for YOU. This is not a get-rich-quick-scheme, it will not make you rich overnight without you doing anything.

You have probably noticed that the home page of Wealthy Affiliate does not have all the hype like many others, it doesn’t have a photo of $1,000,000 Lamborghini, it doesn’t have a photo of $27 MIL castle on the beach and so on. The creators and owners of WA do not sell non-existent easy button to millions over night, they offer you training and materials to help you build your own successful online business, however get ready for this – success requires effort and time.

Wealthy Affiliate Experience

When I found WA, I already lost hope and deemed all “make money online” programs a scam. I had lost several hundreds of dollars and was ready to give up. When I was clicking the button to Join Wealthy Affiliate I swore to myself this would be the last program I’d ever pay for… was I ever surprised when I got inside!!! Pre-built websites, free hosting, personal coaching, thousands of folks inside the famous WA forum sharing their success and help with others and so many other tools, resources and advice – I didn’t even know what half of those things were and what there were for but I understood that I stumbled upon a gold mine. This was what I’ve been looking for.

I joined on October 15th and by October 31st I had made my first $300 online! Sure it wasn’t much but it was proof that Internet Marketing works and it was proof that Wealthy Affiliate works! Next month I made over $1,000 and by the summer of 2008 I was making over $8,000 per month. It is important to notice that I was a complete newbie; I didn’t have any marketing skills, I did not have any web design skills, I was really NEW to all of this. Also, I have not spent a single dollars in order to get to that lever of earnings (besides the low WA monthly fee). Get this, that same summer I took my girlfriend to a Eurotrip, all expenses paid by the knowledge I acquired at Wealthy Affiliate. How cool is that? Three years later, I have reviewed many other programs and “make money” guides and still haven’t found ANYTHING that comes close to the quality of WA… especially for the price! Wa Membership costs about $3 a day, you probably spend more than that on coffee EVERY single day, although coffee does not lead you to success and freedom. There are $1,000-$2,000 Make Money programs that I have reviewed and they do not have such great training as WA – so $97 a month is a bargain. Wealthy Affiliate Defaults

By now I have written enough about Wealthy Affiliate’s amazing qualities and the kind of success you can achieve with it even if you are a complete beginner. WA is in fact amazing however, this is a review and I will also point out some negative points. This program is not perfect (but what is?). Here are some of the issues that could be experienced with WA especially by new members:

  • Wealthy Affiliate offers too much information. Why is this bad? Many new members complain on the forum about how they cannot concentrate on a single strategy/concept because they have access to so many different things… there is an easy way out; WA offers a step-by-step guide, just follow it blindly and you won’t get distracted.
  • One-on-one coaching. Kyle and Carson (the owners) create private support to all members however sometimes it takes quite a while to get a reply from them. It is understandable, there are thousands of members and it might take a long time to answer each and everyone of them, although I am sure K&C do their best to help every single member. When I have a question I just post it on the forum, chances are another member could answer it and help me out. Searching through the WA’s training resources could be very helpful as well (and very quick).

As I mentioned earlier, nothing is perfect and even though Wa has a few defaults, I consider them very minor. This is exactly why I haven’t left the community since 2007.
